Well, you know what they say, it’s better late than never. Here’s a quick look at some of the new designs: Apple had included nonbinary vampires, fairies, genies, mermaids. In its new statement, the Californian company said that it has added over one hundred new and redesigned emoji characters for its iOS 10 update that’s coming this fall.īeside a new rainbow flag emoji, the exciting update also ‘brings more gender options to existing characters, including new female athletes and professionals,’ as well as more family options e.g. Last year’s iOS 14.2 emoji updates included a trans pride flag, trans and intersex symbols, and more options for brides and grooms. Therefore it’s only reasonable that we have a rainbow flag emoji, especially from Apple, a company that believes in and openly supports LGBTQ rights. Today, marriage equality is reality for over one billion people in the world. LGBTQ people are no longer invisible in society, but are known to be making an impact on the world. These images were designed with Slack in mind (because Slack’s selections of pride flags is extremely limited), but it’s likely that they’ll work in Discord or other similar services that allow custom emoji uploads around 100px wide. Indeed, the world has progressed a whole lot in the past 10 years. I’ve put together a pack of pride flag emojis for Pride month and beyond. Isn’t it about time that we have a rainbow flag emoji that celebrates LGBTQ pride and love for all regardless of gender and sexuality?
